Scholarship Information

A. Scholarships

1) Scholarship I: Undergraduates

– Eligibility: Reside in the Greater New York area

Currently enrolled in an accredited US undergraduate educational institution

– Award (Two): $3,000/each

2) Scholarship II: Alumnae Graduates

– Eligibility: Alumnae of Ewha Womans University

Currently enrolled in a graduate program of accredited US educational institution

– Award (One): $4,000

B. General Rules for Scholarships I and II

Complete the application forms provided by the Scholarship Committee of EWU Alumnae Association of Greater New York and submit by June 30, the fiscal year, to the current Scholarship Committee chair.
The form can be downloaded from www.ewhany.com
The following supporting documents must be postmarked or emailed directly to the current Scholarship Committee chair by June 30:
1. Official transcripts sent by the school
2. Two recommendations: academic and personal sent by the recommenders.

Final Notification will be given by July 31, the fiscal year.

C. Others

1) Public Advertisement

– The president of EWU Alumnae Association of Greater New Your shall make advertise the scholarships from April to June of each fiscal year via soceial networks.

2) Scholarship guideline and follow-up criteria shall be determined by the scholarship committee’s discretion each year.

1. 이화대학의 국제하기대학을 위한 장학금들(Scholarship for Ewha International Co-Ed Summer College)

기존에 있던 글로리아 한 장학금을 비롯하여, 이화대학의 Summer College 를 지원하기 위해 오랜동안 노력을 기울여 왔던몇몇 기금들이 작년부터 매년 학교로 지급될 수 있게 되었습니다.

이화대학의 하기대학은 한국의 이화캠퍼스에서 한국어수업, 한국/아시아에대한 각종 다양한 수업과 현지방문 프로그램이 진행되는 프로그램으로 남녀 공히 다닐 수 있는 남녀공학 프로그램입니다.

특히 이화대학이 학점 교환 협정을 맺은 북미의 대학들이 상당히 많기 때문에, 자녀분들이 대학생이시라면 자녀분의 학교와 이화대학이 협정을 맺어서 이대에 가서 들은 수업을 그대로 자신의 미국대학의 학점으로 인정받을 수있는 굉장히 좋은 프로그램입니다.

이 이화하기대학을 지원하는 국제재단의 장학금은 모두 남녀 공히 신청할수 있습니다.

대개 이화대학의 하기대학 학비는 약 $3,000 이 넘습니다. 하지만 국제재단의 하기대학 장학생으로 선정이 되면, 국제재단이 지원하는$3,000 의 장학금 이상의 금액은 이화대학에서 waive 를 해주기 때문에

국제재단 장학금만으로 tuition 은 지불하는 것이 됩니다.

2. 1. 글로리아 한 장학금(Gloria Hahn Memorial Scholarship)

작고하신 김론영 동창의 가족분들이 세운 장학금에 국제재단의 이사진 몇 분이 매년 원금을 더하고 있습니다. 이 장학금은 한인 자녀들을 위한 장학금입니다. 2019년 지급액은 $3,000 입니다.

2. 2. 쉐론 레이더 감독 장학금(Bishop Sharon Z. Rader Scholarship)

국제재단 창립 40주년을 기념하여 세워진 장학금으로서, 이화 홍보와 문화적 교류를 위해 비한인 미국/캐나다인이 이화 캠퍼스에 가서 공부를 할 수 있도록 격려하는 장학금입니다. 자녀의 친구분들이나 주변에 한인이 아니지만 이화에 가서 여름동안 공부하고픈 관심을 보이는 분들에게 추천해주시기 바랍니다.

2019년 지급액은 $9,000 입니다.

2. 3. 남가주 동창회 하기대학장학금(Southern California Summer School Scholarship)

남가주동창회는 이미 한국의 이화대학생들을 돕는 장학기금을 설립하여 매년 이대생에게 혜택을 주고 있습니다만,

하기대학을 위한 장학기금을 또 세워주셨습니다. 이 장학금은 남가주지역 거주자에게 우선권이 있지만, 적절한 학생이 없을경우, 남가주지역 이외의 신청자에게도 지급될 수 있습니다.

대상은 한인/비한인 상관이 없습니다.
